The core (12) of the comminuting roller supports numerous blades (22M) in its retainers (18), extending in the peripheral direction over the front face of the blades. A filling body (22F,22F') is releasably inserted into at least one retainer for at least partial occupation. Pref. the filling bodies and blades are releasably coupled to the roller core via counter-fasteners (20). The filling bodies may be inserted into each second, axially adjacent retainer. The retainer may be located in a transversal plane, with retainer groups contg. or be free of filling bodies.
