Bulk grain hopper funnel

A bulk grain (2) hopper (1) and outlet (3) release bulk solids esp. ultra-pure ore into a vacuum smelting furnace. The improvement is that a rotating collector funnel (4) is positioned below the outlet (3), whose rotational axis is inclined to the vertical, and which is laterally transposed from the outlet centre by a distance 'e'. The funnel outlet pipe (5) also serves as a hollow drive shaft for the funnel. The pipe (5) length is selected to meet the requirements of the process, and turns at a controlled speed. The lower plane of the rotating funnel inner face is co-incident with the outlet (3) base. The rotating funnel raises the bulk solids to a point of max. inclination (11) at which the solids slide into the outlet pipe (5) and are surrendered to the furnace (12).
