Automatic register setting control device for adjusting phase of plate cylinder in each print section of colour rotation printing machine

The control device contains a setting device for adjusting the phase of a plate cylinder in each print section. A register setting error detector reads matching marks printed in each section on a moving paper path (200) using a CCD camera (100). Image data are corrected using an integral correction device. Characteristic points in the marks are detected as coordinate positions and errors detected between these and desired coordinate positions. Control signals for automatic register setting error adjustment are generated (500) from the coordinate position errors and fed (700) to an adjustment device (800).
