The fuse is made of a thickness, d, of copper or silver or a combination of the two. It has a first constricted row (NE), comprising n(NE) first constricted zones (NER) with a continuous variation of transverse cross-section of length 1(NE) and width b(NE). The second constricted row (LE) has n(LE) zones (LR) with a continually varying or a constant transverse cross-section of length 1(LE) and width b(LE). The length 1(LE) is greater than the length 1(NE) by a factor of 1.3 to 3 and the total cross-section, n x d x b, of the second row is greater than that of the first. Near the second layer is a deposit (2) of metal of decidedly lower melting point to increase the resistance.
