Method for forming opening in wall of esp. exhaust pipe

A line-type imprint is applied to the wall of the exhaust pipe, which corresponds to contour of the desired opening. The pipe wall section defined by the imprint is charged by a force along the line, which separates the section from the pipe wall. During the separating process, a counter force acts approx. centrally on the pipe wall section. This causes the section to be deformed shell-like, and it is then removed. Similar openings may be formed in opposite pipe wall sections at the same time.
