A screen for a shale shaker is generally rectangular. One side is provided with a plurality of male members (240) and the opposite side with a plurality of female members (138). When two such screens are placed together, the male members (240) enter the female members (138) and maintain the screens (220, 222) in juxtaposition during operation and inhibit solids moving downwardly through the gap between the screens (220, 222).
