The information in the form of handwritten recordings are detected by an electronic writing block as a pixel image. The information is stored in RAM. In the process there is no coding of the pixels into machine readable form. The handwriting is input with a pen onto a pressure sensitive input module. By activating a switch, the pixel image is stored in compressed form in the RAM. The stored data can be transferred online via a cable or off-line with a RAM card to an external computer for coding into machine readable form.
