The scroll compressor has its mounting location or mass of a balance weight (15) for balancing the inertial force due to the reciprocating motion of an Oldham ring (12) determined in such a manner that the vibrations by an unbalanced inertial force of the Oldham ring are transmitted at angles exactly or nearly perpendicular to a direction of connecting a sealed vessel (1) to an accumulator (2), whereby the vibrations due to the imbalance of the main body of the scroll compressor caused by the balance weight for balancing the inertial force due to the reciprocating motion of the Oldham ring become large at angles exactly or nearly perpendicular to the direction of connecting the sealed vessel to the accumulator, but become small in the above-described direction or at angles close to this direction, with the result that the vibrations of a piping system connected to the accumulator become low, thus reducing the noises from the air conditioner as a whole.
