Sliver can transport system

The transport system (1) for sliver cans (2), moves in two directions, and has a push/switch unit (4) parallel to the push unit (3) and its ratchet carrier (5) for both movement directions, to be moved by the switch (4) on the can (2) movement plane to set the direction of travel. One of the units (3,4) is connected to a reversible drive (7). Pref. the push unit (3) and push/switch unit (4) are coupled (6) in different settings for defined movement in relation to each other through the drive (7). The ratchet carrier (5) automatically moves into a transport or idle setting, according to the relative movement. The push (3) and push/switch (4) units are longitudinal and parallel members, at least functionally linked to the ratchet carrier (5). One push unit is fitted directly to the reversible drive (7), and the other is carried with it through the coupling (6) which is switched (15) to set the transport direction of the assembly (1). The switch has a lock (15) in a coupling section (13) of the coupling (6) which can be positioned at a corresponding holder in the opposite coupling section (12). The lock (15) is a bolt, to fit into the extended holding opening in the other coupling section (12), in a controlled sliding movement.
