<p>PURPOSE:To increase heat-resistance and resistance to impact at the low temperature by making a random copolymer of specific heat of fusion constituted of 3 - methylbutene - 1 and other alpha-olefin having specific carbon numbers and heat molding the same. CONSTITUTION:Poly 3 - methylbutene - 1 resin prepared by making a 3 - methylbutene - 1 to alpha-olefin random copolymer having 8 - 14cal/g heat of fusion into a sheet and heat molding is a random copolymer composed of 3 - methybutene and other alpha-olefin having 2 - 20 carbon numbers such as octadecene - 1 or the like, and straight chain alpha-olefin is preferred. The copolymerization process is carried out by random copolymerizing 3 - methylbutene - 1 and other alpha-olefin having 2 - 20 carbon numbers in an aliphatic or cycloaliphatic aromatic hydrocarbon such as benzene or the like, or in liquid olefin, or else in the presence of a transition metallic compound and an organic metallic compound of elements of groups I to III in the periodic table under the solventless condition.</p> |
