<p>An exercise machine comprising an endless belt running around end rollers or the like and slidable on a bed (12) extending under the area of the belt on which an exerciser stands and runs. The belt is resiliently mounted and is supported on its underside by a contact member (24) which is adjustable lengthwise with respect to the bed. Also, means for weighing the user and a control device operably communicating with the weighing means and means for adjusting the position of the contact member can be provided to enable automatic adjustment of the position of the contact member in accordance with the user's weight.</p> |
