<p>PURPOSE:To impart a special decoration with a three-dimensional feel and a depth to an outer surface of a can body part. CONSTITUTION:In a metal can, a protective coating layer is formed by bonding a synthetic resin film 4 to an outer surface of a can body part 3. A recessed and projected shape 7 is formed on an outer surface of the protective coating layer through a thermosetting adhesive layer 8a. In the production of the metal can, the film 4 is contact bonded to a preheated can-forming material 1 through the thermosetting adhesive layer 8a by a contact bonding roll 11, whereby the recessed and projected shape 7 is formed on the outer surface of the film 4 before completion of adhesion of the thermosetting adhesive layer 8a, and thereafter the film 4 is thermally cured and bonded to the can-forming material 1. The contact bonding roll 11 provided with a recessed and projected shape 10 on its contact bonding surface forms the recessed and projected shape 7 simultaneously when contact bonding the film 4. Alternatively, an embossing roll provided with a recessed and projected shape 10 on its film-contact surface is disposed downstream of the contact bonding roll 11 to form the recessed and projected shape 7 immediately after the film 4 is contact bonded by the contact bonding roll.</p> |
