摘要 PURPOSE:To enable the suppressing of changes limited in the intraocular pressure during the operation by a method wherein a path for sucking crushed emulsified matters is formed in the axial direction of a chip which is mounted at the tip of a probe having an ultrasonic vibrator and an outflow hole 24 with the diameter thereof finer than that of suction paths arranged longitudinally in the course of the suction path. CONSTITUTION:A tip face 22 of a chip 20 which is mounted at the tip of a probe to receive ultrasonic vibration transmitted being amplified from an ultrasonic vibrator attached on the probe is formed at an angle theta to a vertical surface of a shaft. Then, the inner diameter of a tip suction hole 23 for sucking crushed emulsified matters is set larger than that of a suction path 21. The tip suction hole 23 is made to communicate with the suction path 21 through an outflow hole 24 with the diameter thereof finer than that of the suction path 21. This eliminates the need for a larger axial length of the outflow hole 24 and allows the shortening thereof to facilitate working. The use of the outflow hole 24 enables reduction in the suction flow rate per unit time even under a higher suction pressure thereby allowing the lessening of changes in the protomerite.
