PURPOSE: To obtain an antimicrobial cosmetic pigment continuously having uniform antimicrobial and antiseptic effects for a long time without stimulating skin. CONSTITUTION: This antimicrobial cosmetic pigment comprises an inorganic pigment, the complex coating layer of an amorphous glassy metal oxide formed on the surface of the inorganic pigment and a solid solution of antimicrobial metals (silver, copper, zinc are preferable) or antimicrobial metal ions intercalated inside the lattice structure of the coating layer. The metal oxides for forming the coating layer include silica or silica and one or more oxides selected from the group consisting of zinc oxide, magnesium oxide, calcium oxide, aluminum oxide, lithium oxide, sodium oxide, potassium oxide and iron oxide. The amount of the coating is 3.0-50.0 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the coating layer. The amount of the antimicrobial metals to be mixed is 0.00001-5.0 pts.wt., especially 0.01-1.0 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the coating layer. The pigment is added to the composition in 0.001-50.0 wt.%, especially in 0.1-20.0 wt.%. |
