PURPOSE: To provide a gate.cavity insert for injection molding constituted so as to effectively cool a molten material while enhancing mechanical strength. CONSTITUTION: A gate.cavity insert 10 has a cooling chamber surrounding a gate and a thin partition wall 14 is formed between the cooling chamber and the projected part of a cavity. Rib parts 140, 142 alternately protruding into the cooling chamber rearwardly and forwardly in order to form a pair of meandering passages 136, 138 for the cooling medium flowing into the gate.cavity insert 10 are arranged. When the cooling medium flows through the meandering passages 136, 138, cooling effect can be more enhanced by an increase in the surface areas of the rib parts 140, 142 in addition to the cooling effect due to a turblent flow. The mechanical strength of the gate.cavity insert 10 against the injection pressure acting on the cavity can be increased by the rib parts 140, 142. |
