PURPOSE: To obtain the new pharmaceutical preparation for treating cardiac dysrhythmia having its cause in an atrium. CONSTITUTION: This pharmaceutical preparation in an orally applicable preparation or suppository form contains N-isobutyl-N'-isopropyl-9,9-pentamethylene-3,7- diazabicyclo[3,3,1]nonane of the formula (bertosamil) or its adduct of an acid such as acetic acid or salicylic acid. Preparation forms each containing the active substance in an amount of 50-150 mg per unit dose are suitable for the application to man and relatively large mammalian. The bertosamil (acid adduct) has an action for selectively elongating a refractory time and a depolarizing time in an atrium, and is applied to transient potassium outward flows. |
