PURPOSE:To provide an antitheft device for a vehicle which prevents the theft of a vehicle by preventing the use of a key by the third party, and facilitates the initiallization of the intrinsic code of the key. CONSTITUTION:As for an antitheft system for a vehicle which is equipped with a key 1 having the intrinsic code, judgement part 4 for judging the truth or falsehood of the key 1, and an engine control part 9, the judgememt part 4 and the engine control part 9 are equipped with the memory parts 5 and 10 having each region for memorizing the code which is intrinsic for the key, and the control means 8 and 13 which perform control so that the code which is intrinsic for the inputted key is accommodated into each region, When the data accommodated into the region satisfies the prescribed condition. Accordingly, the initiallization of the intrinsic code in the theft preventing device is carried out. |
