<p>PURPOSE:To provide an iron head of a golf club which is long in driving distance and is easy to hit a ball by providing this iron head with a weight part which is small in size and is large in weight. CONSTITUTION:This head 1 has a titanium metal part 7 constituting a hosel part 2 and a face part 3 and a tantalum metal part 8 constituting a sole part 4 and a back part 6. Both metal parts 7, 8 are joined by shrinkage fitting, press fitting, etc. A cavity part 5 is formed on the rear surface side of the face part 3. The head 1 has a proper weight and its centroid exists on the tantalum metal part 8 of a large sp. gr., i.e., in the lower part of the head 1 and, therefore, the driving distance is large and the sweet area is wide. The sole part 4 and back part 6 as the weight parts are composed compact by the tantalum metal part 8 and are easy to hit the ball.</p> |
