PURPOSE:To shorten an ink feed path thereby to simplify and miniaturize the constitution of a recording unit by a method wherein an external contact element is provided on a printed circuit board corresponding to a notch so that electrical connection can be made from a supporting member to the outside through the notch on an area of a portion of the supporting member where the printed circuit board is provided. CONSTITUTION:A base plate 203 has a notch where a portion of a printed circuit board 202 is exposed, and a contact pad 216 of the board 202 is disposed in the notch. The pad 216 feeds electric energy to an energy element from the outside and is in contact with an external contact member 206 provided outside the plate 203 opposed to the board 202. By this arrangement, a large space is provided on the side of a silicon board 201 of the plate 203. Consequently, by disposing a color tank 10 in the space, the length of a feed member 208 interconnecting the tank 10 and the board 201 can be made significantly shorter than that of a conventional one. |
