PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mixture containing a metal supported by a carrier, exhibiting excellent antimicrobial action and free from defects inherent to conventional agents. SOLUTION: A mixture containing silver having particle diameter of 0.001-5μm on a neutral or basic oxide of an element of the group IIa, IIIa, IIb or IIIb of the periodic table, lanthanide elements or their mixture or a non-zeolite oxide, its production process and an antimicrobial composition containing the mixture.
