PURPOSE:To obtain a feed additive for pig capable of promoting the growth of a pig, increasing feed efficiency, shortening time before shipping, accordingly enabling the reduction of production cost and improving meat quality by compounding garlic extract containing active vitamin B1 derivative. CONSTITUTION:This additive is obtained by compounding a garlic extract containing an active vitamin B1 derivative (e.g. allithiamine or thiaminepropyl disulfide) preferably in 0.01-0.5wt.% in a final feed mixture. For instance, the garlic extract containing an activated vitamin B1 derivative is obtained by crushing and squeezing a raw garlic, adding the squeezed juice with 0.5-3wt.% of vitamin B1 based on the raw garlic, adjusting the pH of the obtained liquid at 7.5-8.5 and subsequently subjecting the adjusted liquid to reaction at 55-65 deg.C for 30min to 2hr. Further, the content of the active vitamin B1 derivative is preferably 2-12wt.% based on the solid of the garlic extract. |
