PRODUCTION OF IMAGE RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PURPOSE:To produce an image recording medium excellent in smoothness while carrying out the beating of pulp with a good energy efficiency. CONSTITUTION:This method for producing an image recording medium is to apply an impact energy of 80-120% based on the pulp single fiber breaking energy to the pulp single fibers in the first stage of beating, then apply the impact energy of >=150% based on the pulp single fiber breaking energy in the second stage of beating thereto, thereby beat the pulp to 0.55-0.65mm weight- average fiber length, form a sheet of base paper using the beaten pulp and coat both surfaces of the formed base paper with a polyolefin resin. Thereby, the image recording medium excellent in smoothness is obtained in a state of a low beating power consumption.
