PURPOSE:To contrive the stability of a continuous casting operation for a long term and to improve and stabilize quality of a cast slab by contriving the long service life and the stability of a long nozzle in the continuous casting for a metal of steel etc. CONSTITUTION:In the continuous casting for metal, an oxidation-resistant refractory quality layer 9 composed of ZrO2-Si-C containing low melting glass component is integrally arranged in the range of 1mm-15mm thickness on the outer surface 2 of a non-immersion part of molten metal which does not contact with the molten metal during casting. By this constitution, the oxidized deterioration of the outer surface part which does not immerse into the molten metal at the time of continuously casting the metal, is suppressed, and the extremely large effects are brought about the economy and the reliability of the continuous casting operation, such as a safety and a stability of the casting, the stability of the quality of a cast slab, the improvement of durability and the reduction of troubles of a nozzle itself, etc. |
