PURPOSE:To provide a key which is advantageous for carrying, as for an aititheft system for an automobile which suppresses the start of an engine, unless a key is used. CONSTITUTION:A light source 14 and a light receiving element 2 are installed, directed outward on the key cylinder 1 of an automobile. and on a key 5 corresponding to the key cylinder 1, a solar battery 19 and a light emission element 18 are installed oppositely to the light source 14 and the light receiving element 2, respectively, and a code generating circuit 6 having the solar battery 19 as electric power source is incorporated with the key 5, and the light emission element 18 is connected with the output end of the code generating circuit 6, ans with the output end of the light receiving element 2, a control circuit 4 which judges the specific code signal as the output of the code generating circuit 6 and operates an engine operating means or an alarm device 15 is connected. Since this energy supply of the solar battery 19 is achieved by the light source 14, the key can be manufactured in the form of a mold type. |
