PURPOSE: To use the subject compound for preparing pharmaceuticals useful for the therapy and prophylaxis against hyperreactive inflammatory diseases such as ulcerative colitis, asthma, arteriosclerosis, pancreatitis, septicemia and Alzheimer's disease and little in side effects. CONSTITUTION: This deoxyspergualin [(I)-1-amino-19-guanidino-11-hydroxy-4,9,12- triazanonadecane-10,13-dione trihydrochloride] or its active isomer is used, if necessary, together with an active compound such as metronidazole. The obtained deoxyspergualin-containing pharmaceutical is preferably intravenously or orally administered at a dose of 0.1-100 mg/kg. |
