PURPOSE:To improve mud removing performance and traction performance on an off-road high in the water content. CONSTITUTION:Plural lug grooves 14 are formed almost in the tire width direction on a tread 12 of a pneumatic tire 10 for a heavy load. A groove swinging angle beta in the tire width direction of a tangent S of a line L passing through the groove width center of these lug grooves 14 is set not more than 30 deg., and a pair of platforms 26 to equally divide lugs 22 in the tire width direction into almost three parts are formed on the lug 22. In the lug grooves 14, the cross-sectional shapes are substantially the same with each other in a central area X, and the cross-sectional area gradully increases toward the tread end from the central side in a shoulder part Y. The ratio (L/D) of a width L to a depth D of the lug grooved 14 is set in 1.3 to 2.5, and a cross-sectional inclination alphaof a groove wall 14A of the lug grooves 14 is set in 25 deg. to 35 deg.. |
