PURPOSE:To remove nitrogen oxide in exhaust gas with high efficiency. CONSTITUTION:Exhaust gas containing nitrogen oxide is guided to a reactor packed with a catalyst and ammonia is used as a reducing agent to catalystically remove nitrogen oxide. In this method, a first denitration catalyst bed is arranged on the upstream side of gas flow and an ammonia decomposing catalyst bed having function oxidizing ammonia to decompose the same into nitrogen and nitrogen oxide is arranged on the downstream side of the first catalyst bed and, further, a second denitration catalyst bed is arranged on the downstream side of the ammonia decomposing catalyst bed. Ammonia is added to the inlet of the first denitration catalyst bed in an amt. equal to or more than the reaction equivalent of nitrogen oxide in exhaust gas to denitrate the exhaust gas. |
