PURPOSE:To play a game with natural actions by arranging a pair of light emitting elements apart at the prescribed distance and emitting light in turn near a display device, providing a light receiving element receiving the light from the light emitting elements in turn on a gun, and calculating the sight coordinates from multiple detection signals. CONSTITUTION:Two light emitting elements 10, 11 are fitted apart at the prescribed distance on the sides of a CRT screen 3 displaying a game image, and a light receiving element 15 is provided on the barrel of a gun 8. The light emitting elements 10, 11 are controlled by a microcomputer circuit 17 to be turned on in turn in the prescribed cycle, and the microcomputer circuit 17 calculates the coordinates on the ZX plane where the muzzle direction, i.e., the extension line J of the axis of the barrel, crosses the screen 3. When the muzzle (sight) of the gun 8 is aimed at a center mark appearing on the screen 3 and a trigger is pulled to turn on a switch 16, light is fed to the light receiving element 15 from the light emitting elements 10, 11 in turn, the sight coordinates are calculated, and whether the coordinates of the target image and the sight coordinates coincide with each other or not is judged. |
