<p>PURPOSE: To accelerate a curing speed of a specific alkaline phenol resin by incorporating the resin. CONSTITUTION: Individual wood strands adapted to manufacture of the strand board containing 1 to 7 wt.% of mean water content is prepared. Then, as an adhesive binder, the strand is coated with an alkaline phenol resol resin water solution containing 4 to 5.5 wt.% of weight reference of the stand, a potassium hydroxide containing 1 to 7 wt.% of resol resin solution, at least 40 wt.% of solid content and 2 to 8 wt.% of alkalinity content calculated as sodium hydroxide and having a number-average molecular weight of the resin of 700 to 2,000. Then, the strand is combined in the state of the board by heating and pressurizing sufficient to cure the resol resin.</p> |
