Axial airflow fan for water cooling system of IC engine vehicle

An axial airflow fan for the watercooling system of an IC engined vehicle has a rotating impeller formed by blades (15) set uniformly round the circumference of an electrically driven hub (17). The blades (15) are of aerofoil section but also have a pronounced curvature from their root at the hub to their opposite extremity similar to the shape of a sickle and their outermost edges are connected by a peripheral ring (21) concentric with the hub (17). The particular geometric contouring of the blades is in conformity with specified polynomial identities leading to a reduction in turbulence at blade edges and improved pressure control for noise reduction.
