The machine is constructed on a chassis (2), with wheels, either motorised or tractor drawn, and consists of the means for removing the foliage (5), the lifter (7), the collector and cleaner (8) and the transfer system (10). The lifter consists of a pair of extractor wheels (30), for each row of planted crop. The angles are formed in so that at the minimum point (e) of separation of a pair of wheels is to the rear and below the level of the soil. Each extractor wheel of a pair, is linked to a driving system (32 & 35), capable of driving the wheels in rotation, in the same sense as the wheels (3 & 4) of the chassis, but with a peripheral linear speed which is greater than that of the advancement of the chassis.
