Ball joint mfr. and bearing shell

In a process for mfg. a ball joint with a ball spigot (1), bearing shell (2), housing and a sealing bellows (4) between the housing and spigot (1): i) the bellows (4) are positioned with the housing side opening bead (41) over the bearing shell end (24); ii) the ball assembly (1, 2, 4) is placed in a tool cavity (6); iii) plastic is injected into the cavity (63) around the bearing shell (2) to form the housing and simultaneously locks the bellows opening bead (41) onto the bearing shell (2). A bearing shell (2) is claimed in which the edge of the open end (24) has a ring-shaped bearing face (25) for locating the inner edge of the bellows (4) housing-side opening.
