<p>A phosphorothioate oligodeoxyribonucleotide which has 5 to 30 base units and contains at least one base sequence ?5'-GXGGG-3'¿ (wherein G represents guanine and X represents any of adenine, thymine, guanine and cytosine) and wherein the linkage between the nucleosides is a phosphorothioate linkage, a salt thereof and chemical modifications thereof; and an antiviral agent containing the same. This compound has a high antiviral activity against herpes simplex virus and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and is useful for treating or preventing various viral infections.</p> |
