<p>A method of shaping wood based composite materials by bending, impressing or otherwise deforming the material is described in which the material in the form of a sheet (20) or some other appropriate initial shape is first subjected to a plasticising heat treatment, usually using moist steam, and is then deformed to the required shape, preferably in a press, with further heat treatment and under mechanical pressure to prevent any significant surface de-bonding.</p> |
