Energy-saving circuit for apparatus with stand-by operation

The energy-saving circuit is for a low current apparatus, eg radio with an auxiliary function, eg alarm clock and a stand-by mode. It provides the auxiliary function with its own power supply. The main circuit is switched on as occasion demands. The main power supply is isolated from the mains through a transformer (HT). The transformer is connected into the circuit via the switch (S) as needed. The auxiliary function transformer (UT) supplies only the auxiliary function and the relay (R). All the current circuits that are not needed are switched off during standby.
