<p>The use of glycine and other low molecular weight amino acids in ophthalmic compositions (e.g., preserved saline solutions) is described. These compounds have been found to enhance the efficacy of antimicrobial preservatives. The compounds also act as chelating agents, buffers and tonicity agents.</p> |
