The door frame connector (10) to the surround cladding (6) is designed to take the door and frame butt hinges etc. and the wall contact element forms a spacer (14) which is adjusted to suit the profiles for the various wall intervals, the profile being releasably fixed to the spacer and the connector. The connector has holes and/or ideal break lines for these intended for the door etc. fittings. The decorative profile (7) is fixed on the connector via a tolerance equaliser (12) which in turn is fixed to the connector through a notch-engaging connection. In section, the connector presents a double-angled piece so one end can be introduced into a door frame groove (5) to take the door seal (11), this in turn grasped from behind or carried by the connector. The profile takes the spacer in a socket (17) fitted out with notching strips (16) and is fixed to connector and spacer so as to form a concealed trunking space (18) for cables etc.
