The roller core (12) carries numerous blades (22), which are of two types, i.e. flat top-side blades (22E) and concave top-side blades (22K). The blades form groups (22E,K) evenly distributed in both peripheral and axial directions. The number of blades in both groups is identical. The roller core may have axially adjacent, sequential peripheral ribs (16), contg. blade retainers (18), each with an inserted blade of such size that one cutting edge protrudes beyond the profile of the peripheral rib by a small distance (d).
