The arm support (3-7) is in the form of an accessory which can be clamped to the top edge of a window (2) when it is in the fully lowered position. The armrest consists of a plate or shell (3), which is lined with a cushioning material, on which the driver can rest his elbow or forearm. The plate (3) is mounted on a U-shaped bracket (3) which fits over the edge (4) of the window and which can be clamped on the window with a screw (5). The insides of the U-shaped bracket are lined with a soft material. A wind deflector (12), which is mounted on the arm rest, deflects the airstream away from the arm and neck of the driver.
