The invention pertains to a hydromassage device for use in a bathtub, with a battery casing (1) to hold electrical batteries (4), preferably chargeable batteries, which are connected to a drive motor for a pump, where pump casing (3), motor casing (2) and battery casing (1) are connected to one another and at least one of the casings is equipped with holding means for attaching the device to the wall of the tub. The invention provides that the battery casing (1) and the motor casing (2) are separate, detachably connected waterproof casings, that the battery casing (1) and the motor casing (2) have on their outer walls contacts members (16.1, 16.2; 17.1, 17.2) that form contacts with each other when in the operating state the two casings (1, 2) are connected to each other, in each case forming contact pairs (16; 17), to which the batteries (4) or the drive motor (5) are connected, and that in the operating state at least one sealing arrangement (19, 20) gives the region (18) of the contact pairs (16, 17) a waterproof seal.
