The present invention relates to fabric care compositions to reduce the fading of fabrics from sunlight, comprising: (A) from about 1 % to about 25 % by weight of the composition, of a non-fabric staining, light stable sunscreen compound preferably containing at least one C8-C22 hydrocarbon fatty organic moiety; (B) from 3 % to about 50 % by weight of a fabric softening compound; and (C) from about 25 % to about 95 % by weight of a carrier material; wherein the sunscreen compound absorbs light at a wavelength of from about 290 nm to about 450 nm; wherein the sunscreen compound is a solid material having a melting point of from about 25 DEG C to about 90 DEG C or a viscous liquid at a temperature of less than about 40 DEG C.
