Biodegradable polymers containing diester units of general formula III: -£(O)n-CO-O-C(R1R2)-O-CO-(O)m-(R3)a|-, where R1 and R2 mean hydrogen atoms or monovalent organic group bonded by hydrogen atom or both create twovalent organic group bonded by hydrogen atom, R means twovalent organic group bonded by carbon atom, m and n are the same or different, they means 0 or 1. By premise, that (i) as a is 0 and polymer is radicals forming cross-linked polymer, then at least one from m an n must be 1 and (ii) polymer is not copolymer of polycarbonate dimetacrylate with 2,2'-bis £4-(3-metacryloxy-2-hydroxypropoxy)- -phenyl|propane. Polymers are suitable mainly for production of surgery implants, prosthesis of soft tissues, foam materials, films, dressing, bending foils, reservoir or agents forfor slowly releasing of effective matters or contrast agents.
