A flexible hand-held flashlight (10) having a flexible support assembly (16) includes a pair of conductive wires (54,56) which electrically connect a source of power to a power using implement (92). The flexible support assembly (16) surrounds the pair of conductive wires (54,56) and includes a plurality of interconnected universally rotatable members. A resilient sleeve (18) engages the outer surface of the rotatable members forming the spine (28). The relative lengths of the power supplying housing (12), the flexible support assembly (16) and the light housing (14) enable the flashlight (10) to be wrapped or draped around an object, such as a human body or a post. $$
