MR method for determining the distribution of nuclear magnetization with a surface coil arrangement

The imaging system uses a surface coil device with at least one coil providing image data which is sensitive to localised inhomogeneities in the magnetic field, corrected via auxiliary values obtained from data provided by a further volume coil. The surface coil device and the further coil are used for additional magnetic resonance measurements, the further being separated from one another and from the magnetic resonance imaging measurements, with the same magnetic field characteristic within the imaging zone for both additional measurements, the obtained data used to provide the correction values.
