The structural component has an attached lengthwise member (2) joined to a glass panel (3). The lengthwise member is made with an open U-shaped cross-section with side flanges (20) which are stuck to the glass panel with adhesive (24) so that they form a rigid and solid enclosed assembly. The glass panel is of heat-treated glass. The lengthwise member is fixed along one of its edges with an adhesive which, after hardening, has a high resistance to shearing and a low level of elastic and plastic deformation.
