A powder dispenser includes a powder housing (20) for holding a supply of powdered material to be dispensed, the powder housing including an inhalation conduit (64) provided in displaced relation to the powdered material supply; a metering plate (180) including a metered dose hole (184) for holding a metered amount of the powdered material, and positioned below the powdered material supply, the metering plate and the powder housing being relatively rotatable. A counter (580) providing a visual count of the number of doses of the powdered material. The counter including counter rings (590, 620) providing the visual count, the counter rings being rotatable about the common central axis and having indicia (600) thereon which display the visual count. An actuating mechanism (640) is used for incrementally rotating the counter rings (590) in response to the relative rotation of the metering plate (180) and a powder housing (20). Devices (300) placed under the metering plate (180) have a nozzle (312) larger than a nozzle (184) for metering the powder material and is in identical position with a nozzle, if the nozzle is in identical position with an inhalation conduit (64), while the upper base devices (300) contain retentive devices (186) of powder to prevent subsidence of powder through the nozzle. |
