PURPOSE:To separate usable materials as products from a spent fuel used in a nuclear reactor and enable the removal of waste materials from the fuel, by the irradiation of a laser ray to a target atomic beam or a molecular beam. CONSTITUTION:By utilizing a phenomenon in which a wave length of a laser ray coincides with a spectral absorption band of a target atom or molecule and irradiating the laser ray to a target atomic beam or an object molecular beam, usable materials in a spent fuel used in a nuclear reactor can be separated and/or waste materials in the fuel can be removed from the fuel. Therewith, not only the separation of an uranium and a plutonium and also an uranium enrichment can be conducted simultaneously and consequently a technical innovation of a light water reactor fuel cycle can be realized. Moreover, an enrichment of a plutonium can be carried out at the same time and a technical innovation of a fast breeder fuel cycle can be also realized. Whereby, a considable amount of usable elements which our country does not produce as resources, can be produced from a spent fuel waste.
|
