PURPOSE:To remove magnetic toner without strongly pressing a photoreceptor with contact and to recover the magnetic toner over a long period by magnetizing magnetic bristles flocked on a sleeve with a magnet therein on the side of the photoreceptor and demagnetizing in a distant position. CONSTITUTION:A cleaning roll 21 is provided with a cylindrical sleeve 211 of a nonmagnetic material, fiber (magnetic bristles) 212 of a magnetic material flocked over the entire periphery of the sleeve 211 along its outer periphery and a bar-shaped permanent magnet 213 inserted into the sleeve 211. The permanent magnet 213 is immobile and has a magnetic pole in the peripheral direction, to magnetize the magnetic bristles 212 turned to the side of a photoreceptor drum 1 and release the magnetization of the magnetic bristles 212 turned into a direction away from the drum 1. Then, the sleeve 211 is rotated to disturb and attract the magnetic toner on the drum 1 by the magnetic bristles 212 and the magnetization is released in a position away from the drum 1 and the attracted toner is recovered by a magnetic toner recovering blade 22. |
