PURPOSE: To provide an improved method for detecting a scene cut, especially the automated method for detecting both of a gentle cut and a sudden cut. CONSTITUTION: The next frame of moving images is fetched, the values ofρandσare calculated, whether or not the sudden cut is generated is decided from the value ofρand a flag is set. Then, the set flag is utilized at the time of deciding whether or not the cut is during continuation or ended and is reset in the case that it is ended. |
