PURPOSE:To achieve a handy registration of a master character of a character to be inspected with a part alone of an inspection string different by replacing images alone corresponding to a different character or the like among inspection reference area images registered previously. CONSTITUTION:A CPU board 13 controls the whole of a character inspector 10 and six CCD cameras 14A-14F for photographing inspection characters and a monitor 15 for displaying the inspection characters are connected to image processing boards 11A-11F. Then, an image processing data is inputted by operating a mouse 16 connected to an I/O board 12 referring the monitor 15. A master character as comparison reference of inspection is registered into a file of a hard disc drive 17. In the generation of an inspection reference area image, a character image alone to be inspected corresponding to different characters and (or) symbols and graphics are replaced among the inspection reference area images registered beforehand to be stored as new inspection reference area image. |
